What is it that I had not got a chance to write in anything in this space for close to 9 months ?? Should I attribute this to being extremely busy with my work, or that wifey and the kid came in May and they keep me busy...be it whatever, I had almost forgotten about blogging......until I came across interesting aspects and many facets of life during my trip to India over the new year's....
The most important reason I had been to India just after 10 months of landing here was --- my loving sister Sheetal got married to one Kiran (can you belive that ??..I mean his name) -- "Kiran's BIL is Kiran" (something on the lines of "Chandramouli maga Chandramouli" from Gouri-Ganesha).
It was good to see mom after 10 months...Got to spend a whole lot time with her...learned few important things about parenting.....and life as whole...
Got to know what really matters in life....and what is important....??
I have finally pursued mom to come visit us in May. If I just say come over, she would not. I have told it is a good opportunity to witness Sheetal's graduation in Chicago and she agreed. I am excited and looking forward to showing her what this country is. While India has taught me what life is, I cannot belittle America's contribution to what I am today. My decision to go back to Bangalore in the coming years is 99% certain, but America will always be close to my heart.
Sister's wedding went well...really well...people who came in had lot of kudos to Amma's sacrifice to mine and Sheetal's life and without her and her determination, we would be nowhere.
Hey, I got to watch a wonderful movie by name "Taare Zameen Par", an Aamir Khan starrer (the actor I admire the most). I would not want to describe the movie here, but would say it is a must watch for anyone, especially parents and teachers. It was worth giving the money for the ticket.
It is now a lengthy post and I make it a point to come here and scribble something often....but, I should confess that I do not have anythign to right now at work and as such blogging. I am told that the next three to four months will be hectic. This blogspot will decide that...

Car....
In the midst of my schedule, I totally forgot to blog about my new Toyota Camry LE that I bought a week back. Ventured into used cars market but did not get a good deal. Prices were high with lot of mileage. Thought it would be wise to go for a new one -- considering family and the time I will be here...
Will have to post a picture here...will do that in few days. Don't have a camera with me yet.

Kramer
Have you not heard of Cosmo Kramer...Seinfeld's neighbor ? You are missing something.
Watched this show "Seinfeld - The Kiss Hello" (Season 6: Episode 103). It took me down the memory lane when my sis and I burst into hysterical laughter....when Kramer clicks his instant picture camera to take Wendy's (Jerry's guest) picture and when the picture does not come up (due to camera being old and has a time lag) he turns the lens towards his face while it flashes he goes through this feeling (the Kramer's expression) ....one should watch that and enjoy.....
Damn ...I ain't gettin that video on youtube. If I do, will post.

Freedom....
How does one feel when come across such a delightful word in English ? It has brought tears to people who waited for that...whether in case of independence as in case of our motherland India or relief as in most cases be it completion of examination, getting into hostel (away from family shackles), or as in any other case left to pure interpretation of any human brain.
I felt relieved today. Why ? I got freedom from boredom. Having been home for close to two months not doing much, today, I finally got into a place which I dreamed of not too long ago. It was always our dream during our Master's days to get into abode of computer networking company and that too the pioneer in providing networking equipment and network management for internet. Yes, I am talking about Cisco. My dream came true. I started working for Cisco as a software engineer today. Looking forward to having a good career ahead.

Rejuvenate..
wow...I feel terrific as I write this piece. I have a couple reasons to feel so.
First of all, I had a wonderful dinner...kind of full and not so much to do with cholesterol causing food...but some south Indian delicacy called Shavige bhath (of course, naaney maaDidhu). The second reason being my laptop's recovery. The laptop was sick with lot of cholesterol up its nerves and heart/brain or whatever. I had to clean and I got rid of lot of non-sense that was not making sense at all being there. Lot of software (heck I will go re-install if I want them, ever) was removed and this guy feels lot healthy. His "Performance" is better now. ;-)
You know how I am feeling today becasue of above reasons ? Feeling like my examination is over, and I had my hair cut and had a shower with cool menthol shampoo, clean shaven and riding my hero honda in gandhibazaar at 7.30 AM on a beautiful blue-sky December day.

Terrible...
What a terrible thing happened in Virginia Tech today. That school is an abode for valuable education. And shooting in such a place is a disgusting thing to happen for humankind. People go to school/college to learn and be good to soceity. But, this one guy who lost his head has gone on a rampage to kill 20+ innocent people. Its just devastating. Sorry to know that.
Time's moving....but how long do I need to wait ?
Well,....the last time I wrote something, time was moving very slow. Trust me, I am not a person who gets into a chat-room and spend long time. But I have been doing that lately...and you will have to believe that I spent over five hours in gmail chat on friday.
Today, it is lot better. We have a new guest who has graciously accepted to be with us from now on. All I can give you a hint about our guest is she has a 27" waistline and her name is "Magna". She goes blah-blah-blah all the time until one of us ask her to shut up. She was with another guy for sometime and he found a new friend for himself and had to ditch Magna. Man...She ain't no goddamn bad....she is good, in fact very good. Perhaps, the other guy just got bored with her. Magna has a friend of her own - "Soni". This little Soni has the ability to change five dresses at a time. We are yet to check that baby out. (We just wanted Magna, but that guy gave Soni free)
:-)
Alright, if my wife sees this she's gonna feel bad about me. We don't have no girls at home. If you haven't figured out yet, Magna is our new 27" Magnavox television. And Soni is the DVD Player having a 5 CD changer capacity. My friend bought this from craigslist reference.
We (read I, cuz my friend goes to work and I stay home) have had some really good time since we got this TV. I watched one of my favs "Blue Streak". Oh...whatta way to start your sunday off. And then, I have been watching some good sitcoms like Steve Harvey show, Home Improvement, Yes Dear, King of Queens, Seinfeld, and Friends. Oh....this takes my memory a long way to end of 2003 and early 2004 in Philadelphia. I bet my ass that was the best time of my life.
Well, if my sister reads this....she'd say -- "Oh no....this guy's gonna tell this new story of his a zillion times, just the way he has told me that Philly stuff". And if mom comes to know I have been watching TV, she's gonna feel bad. She will tell..."Oh my dear son, you did not go there to watch TV". Oh....what the heck....I ain't gonna tell this story to anyone. I will just give people my new address on blogspot. :P
In spite of having some good time with TV, I am wondering how long will it take before I actually get into doing some good networking stuff. I have done all I can from my side. Now, people who knows rules and regulations, law and order, should get things moving. They have been doing their best, but still it is a matter of time and it is frustrating to be home. I just feel things will fall into place and I will be active very soon.
